Before LIUMI became a jewelry brand, it was simply a story between two people.
For years, I worked around the earth and stone, spending much of my time close to natural minerals and raw materials. I became fascinated by the fact that no two stones were ever exactly the same. Their colors, textures, inclusions, and imperfections were shaped by nature over time.
Whenever work took me near the coast, I would collect small pearls and natural materials from the sea and bring them home to my wife.
She loved them.
Instead of keeping them as simple treasures, she began turning them into pieces of jewelry by hand — combining the pearls with stones and other natural materials she found beautiful.
What started as something made just for us slowly became something more.
We began learning about the traditional meanings associated with the materials we were working with.
Turquoise has long been associated with protection, calm, and positive energy.
Amber has been treasured for generations for its warm color and its connection to nature, sunlight, and grounding.
Freshwater pearls have traditionally symbolized purity, balance, and inner calm.
We loved the idea that jewelry could be more than something beautiful to wear.
It could carry a feeling.
A reminder to slow down.

A small source of comfort in everyday life.
That idea became the beginning of LIUMI.
Today, we create jewelry using natural turquoise, amber, freshwater pearls, and other materials shaped by nature. We embrace their natural variations rather than hiding them — because the tiny differences in color, texture, and inclusions are what make each piece unique.
